WinPlay
Version 1.0
Amiga Workbench Animation Viewer
* * *
I N S T R U C T I O N S
Thanks for trying out WinPlay. This program will display standard .anim
format animations in a window on Workbench screen. It opens a window into
which animations can be loaded, as many as your chip ram will allow.
This program is freely distributable. You may distribute it freely as long
as all files included in this archive are included in distribution.
This program is shareware. If you decide to keep it, please register by
sending a registration fee to the author in the amount of US $2.00.
This program is fully functional and is not crippled in any way.
ANIMATIONS:
* must be compatible with DPaint3 format
* use long delta (type 2) compression
* do not include any palette changes
PROGRAM:
* Uses ASL library to request files.
* Can hold up to 127 animations of different sizes, each with its
own palette. Able to flip through animations for quick and easy
viewing.
* Allows frame-by-frame viewing of individual frames.
The viewing window is of a fixed size 320x200. If an animation is too large
to large to fit in that window, you can scroll it using arrow keys.
DISTRIBUTION:
The following files should be included in this distribution:
- WinPlay
- WinPlay.info
- Manual.doc
- wb.palette
- WinPlay.readme
- Thinpaz.font
- Thinpaz <drw> with font size 8
INSTALLING:
WinPlay uses special font called thinpaz.font which must be copied to your
FONTS: directory. It also needs topaz 8 to be present there.
'wp.palette' must be present in the same directory where WinPlay is located.
This is a palette file to which workbench will change (on request) after
playing animation. Animations can also be played using that palette. To do
that you need to pick PALETTE from the menu while animation is being played.
MENU CONTROL:
LOAD - Load animation from disk
CLEAR - Delete current animation from the list
PREV - Switch to previous animation
NEXT - Switch to next animation
PLAY - Playback animation
REWIND - Go to the beginning of animation
FRAME - Advance one frame
STOP - Stop playback
PALETTE - Switch to more readable palette
ABOUT - Show author and program information
QUIT - Exit the program
BUTTON CONTROL:
PREV - Switch to previous animation
NEXT - Switch to next animation
« - Go to the beginning of animation (REWIND)
PLAY - Playback animation
» - Advance one frame (FRAME)
STOP - Stop playback
LOAD - Load animation from disk

KEYBOARD CONTROL:
Up 8 - scroll up
Down 2 - scroll down
Left 4 - scroll left
Right 6 - scroll right
RETURN - reset position
- (-) decrease scroll speed
= (+) increase scroll speed
\ (|) reset scroll speed
THINGS TO WATCH OUT FOR:
* Trying to load an animation while there is not enough memory to hold it
will crash the machine.
* Trying to load something other than .anim file will also cause the machine
to crash
* Animations must be deleted ('Cleared') in order they were brought in.
Doing otherwise will bring "Delete not allowed" message.
